Tplink extender firmware update | extender setup
The latest firmware of a range extender adds new features and erases the bugs from your device. The firmware of a range extender can be updated using two methods i.e One is using the manual method and the other is directly using the tplinkrepeater.net interface. New firmware escalates the performance of a range extender and thus increases the incoming rate of Wi-fi signals into the computer or mobile device.
Steps to update the firmware of a Tp-link range extender
Launch a browser on your laptop or desktop connected to the home network.
Type www.tplinkrepeater.net as the URL of your browser.
A user can also type 192.168.1.254 on the address bar of your browser.
Hit Enter and you will be redirected to the tplinkrepeater.net login window.
Type “admin” on the username tab and mention the password you assigned during the Tp-link Extender setup process.
If you haven’t changed the login password you need to type the default password i.e “admin” on the password field.
Both the login credential fields are case-sensitive.
Click on the login button and the tplinkrepeater.net main window appears on the scree
Go to the Basic Tab, select the Advanced tab then click on the Firmware Update tab.
When you click on the Firmware Update option, the firmware update page appears on the screen.
Scroll down the page and click on the Check now option.
The range extender starts searching for the firmware available for your Tp-link extender.
If a new firmware will be available, click on the Update tab of the dialogue box
The firmware starts installing on the tplinkrepeater.net window.
The update process is going to take a couple of minutes
When the update process gets completed, the range extender automatically restarts.
Note: A user must avoid interruption during the update process, it may corrupt the firmware. If a user is using a manual method of updating the firmware, he has to make sure that he has downloaded the correct firmware file. A wrong firmware may permanently damage the product or may void the warrant of the range extender.
