How to setup Amped rec10 range extender?

Before the setup process, a user needs to find a good spot to place the range extender. The location plays an important role in determining how the range extender will function. If it’s the first time you are performing the setup process, you can take the help of the quick setup guide. Make sure you know the default Wireless credentials given on the back of the range extender to connect to it during the setup process.

Note: Connect your computer to the router through a wired connection to avoid sudden disconnection during the setup process.

Follow the below steps to set up the Amped rec 10 range extender

1. Attach the antennas to the range that comes along with the device.
2. Now, plug in the range extender to the power outlet near the main router.
3. Note down the default Wireless settings to connect to the range extender.\
4. Use the default Wireless settings given on the back of the range extender to connect your computer to it.
5. The default Range extender’s Wi-fi name is Amped_REC10.
6. Once you get connected to the range extender’s network open a browser.
7. Type setup.ampedwireless.com on the address bar of the browser and hit enter.
8. If you encounter an error, You can type 192.168.0.254 as the URL of the browser.
9. The Setup Wizard appears on the screen.
10. Select the “Extend Network” option and click Next to begin the setup process.
11. Click Scan to find available networks nearby to extend.
12. The Wi-fi devices available near the Wi-fi appear on the screen.
13. Select the network you want to extend and type down the Wi-fi password of it.
14. Click Next when you get done.
15. Follow the above step again if you have a dual-band router and click Next
16. Follow the onscreen instructions carefully and proceed to further steps.
17. Personalize the Wi-fi settings if you want to bring changes in the default Wireless settings.
18. Assign a new network name and Wi-fi password to the extended network.
19. A new SSID name should be unique enough to allow nearby users to find the extender’s network.
20. If you want to create a hidden network select the “Hide SSID” option.
21. To connect to a hidden network, a user has to enter the Network name manually in the Wi-fi list.
22. Once done, click Next.
23. On this page, you can review the settings you made
24. Users are advised to note down the wireless and other administrative settings you made. It is important for future use.
25. Click Finish when you are done.
26. The extender starts the reboot process to apply the settings you made.
27. Wait for a couple of minutes until the reboot process is complete.
28. To connect to the extender’s network, scan for the Wi-fi networks.
29. Select the Amped range extender’s Network name and type the Wi-fi password in the provided field. Click Connect.
